ISLAMABAD (TP NEWS) – The Punjab government has extended the parole of former premier Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz and Captain (retd) Safdar for three days.
The extension in parole was decided after funeral of former first lady Kalsoom Nawaz was announced.
Three of them were released on parole when Begum Kalsoom Nawaz passed away in London. The Punjab government initially announced a 12- hour parole to Nawaz, Maryam and Safdar on the request of Opposition Leader Shehbaz Sharif to attend the funeral of Kulsoom Nawaz.
Talking to the media on Wednesday, Chief Minister Usman Buzdar said that the parole will be extended to allow them to attend the funeral. He also denied rumors about declaring Jati Umrah a sub- jail, saying that they are in custody of police;  therefore, rules of the parole will be abided.
Earlier, three of them were brought to Lahore after being temporarily released from Adiala Jail on Tuesday late night.
