A guideline on how to donate to Dams Fund

People who want to donate for construction of dams in country can follow the procedure mentioned below.

Prime Minister Imran Khan has recently appealed to the nation and overseas Pakistanis to donate to PM-CJ Fund for Diamer Bhasha and Mohmand Dam. He said, citing a report, Pakistan will be facing draught by 2025 if water was not reserved.
Earlier, Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Mian Saqib Nisar also ordered to open an account titled Supreme Court Diamer Bhasha and Mohmand Dam Fund. He appealed to the nation to donate to the account as per capacity.
After the speech of Prime Minister Imran Khan, the account was titled as Chief Justice-Prime Minister Fund for Diamer Bhasha and Mohmand Dam.
Scores of Pakistanis living abroad as well as locals are donating to the Dams Fund.
Recently, GNN Directors Zubair Nawaz Chattha and Zulqarnain Nawaz Chattha also announced to donate Rs 50 million to the Dams Fund. President and senior anchorperson Hamid Mir announced to donate Rs 500,000 during his program.
Procedures
There are two ways to make donations:
  • Deposit the amount in the account of State Bank of Pakistan.
  • Donate the amount through SMS
Donation through State Bank of Pakistan:
Under instructions from the Supreme Court of Pakistan, the State Bank of Pakistan opened an account titled Supreme Court of Pakistan Diamer Basha and Mohmand Dam Fund. Amount can be deposited by cash, cheques and online transfer in the account for the dams.
Details of bank and account number are following:
  • Bank: State Bank of Pakistan
  • Account Name: Supreme Court of Pakistan Diamer Basha and Mohmand Dam Fund
  • Account No:     03-593-299999-001-4
Until September 13, an amount of Rs 3,212,537,026 (three billion two hundred twelve million five hundred thirty-seven thousand twenty-six rupees) has been deposited in the account.

SMS:
Another way to donate an amount is contribution through SMS. By sending an SMS, a sum of Rs 10 can be donated to the Dams Fund.
For this purpose, the user should type “dam” and send the SMS to “8000”.
On sending the SMS, Rs 10 will be deducted from the mobile phone balance and the sender will also receive a confirmation message.
The service exempted from additional tax is also available for prepaid and postpaid customers.
